Mind/Body Programs for Infertility
Relaxation Strategies, stress management skills, and support
These programs are designed to help you obtain the emotional tools to better manage the fertility process so that you can feel better in your daily living, and create more optimal conditions for conception. The skills you will learn in our Mind/Body Program for Infertility will not only help you better manage your journey towards parenthood, but will also give you a toolbox of coping skills you can use throughout your life.
You can benefit from the mind/body program for infertility offered by Complementary Care Group for Infertility if:

You are feeling okay, but are worried about more intense feelings as treatment progresses and want to maintain your emotional well being.

You are not feeling okay right now.
This program will reduce the isolation surrounding your infertility, provide you with new coping skills, and teach you about lifestyle behaviors that impact infertility. Participants in this type of program show significant decreases in physical symptoms of stress and studies suggest a higher pregnancy rate after completing the program.
Complementary Care Group for Infertility’s Mind/Body Programs for Infertility offer the chance to learn:

Relaxations strategies, stress management skills, and how to get support form other people who understand what you are going through.

How to change lifestyle habits which can have a negative impact on fertility.

Cognitive restructuring which involves identifying and reframing recurrent negative thought patterns, so that what starts as “I will never have a baby,” may end up as “I am doing everything I can to get pregnant.”

Self-nurturing skills ranging from “101 excuses to avoid baby showers” to how to restructure your daily life to add as much joy as you can.
The two options available for our Mind/Body Program for Infertility are:
Ten Week Program
This multi-week program meets for 10 consecutive weeks. The program consists of a total of 24 hours of skills based, supportive group counseling. Nine of the sessions are two hours each, and one of the sessions is a 6 hour session (on a Sunday), for participants and their partners. For more information about the program, read our Program FAQs. Weekend Retreat
This retreat is designed for women and/or couples who are unable to commit to a 10 week program, or who live outside of the greater Kansas City area. The core components of the program are the same as in the 10 week program. The retreat is a two day program, and is designed for individuals as well as for couples.
